Entering Data on a SymTrend App from a Browser-Based Mobile Phone
(if you do not have an Apple device)

Types of Mobile Phones That Work

Why Use a Mobile Phone. For some behavioral and health challenges, recording data in-the-moment or getting guidance about how to act as you need it, is important. You may not be able to remember what happens a few hours later when you get to a desktop and go to the Internet.

While you can record in-the-moment with SymTrend's App for the iPhone or iPod touch without being near a wireless hot spot, you may not be able to or want to use an iPhone. SymTrend's online data recording application works with most other mobile phones/devices. We have not tested them all. The features for a phone/mobile device that are required to work with this application include Internet access with a browser throughout data entry, a data plan, and a touch screen. Test the ability to use your phone/device with the apps with the instructions below.

Types of Mobile Phones That Don't Work Well

Phones That Require Tabbing or Have Simple Browsers. Some phones have more primitive browsers and cannot display and/or capture data with SymTrend's online data recorder. We have added a simpler version of the recorder that is compatible with a wider range of phone browsers. Rather than having an interface that looks like the iPhone app, its interface includes links that can be tabbed to and clicked.

How to Access the Data Recorder from Your Phone
  • Start your browser on your phone.
  • Type in the SymTrend website URL: https://www.symtrend.com/tw/public/index. Click on the Go-Mobile link on the navigation bar of the site. Sign in with your username and password.
  • Instructions for clicking on
the Go-Mobile link on the navigation bar to start the online data recorder on a mobile phone.    Link to see of log works.

  • You can test if the online data recorder works with your phone. Click on the Go-Mobile link and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click on the link, Try a sample Health Log, as shown above to bring up a sample e-diary and page through the application selecting answers and hitting Next. If you can answer questions and move from screen to screen, your phone will work with SymTrend apps.
  • Your browser may automatically detect the online application and display just the application in your phone's window. If it does, follow the instructions above for finding the link to the sample log.
  • If your phone works with the app in the test, when you subscribe, you'll access your SymTrend log by clicking on the Go-Mobile on the navigation bar to start your recording; you will have to log into the app with your username and password.
  • If the test with your device did not work, try clicking on the Go-Mobile-Lite link and try the same test.

Getting SymTrend Reminders via Text or Email Messages
  • SymTrend has a feature for sending email or text/graphic messages to remind you to take medications, use strategies, and/or behave in preferred ways.
  • Some examples of messages are displayed below:
  • Sample Reminders Screens.

  • Our messages do not work with all cell service providers; they work with AT&T and Verizon. They do not work with tMobile. Yahoo.com may block the email messages. Gmail does not. If you want to test if you can use this feature with your current providers, contact SymTrend's help line to ask for assistance in testing (symtrend@gmail.com)
